Linux Is Like Cars

Adobe Connect is the web app that GCPCUG will use to bring the meeting to you over the internet.You can use your desktop, laptop or even your Android or iOS tablet to attend the conference. You can connect anytime, but the meeting may not be fully operational until shortly before 10:15 AM ET on Saturday.

When you are ready to start the meeting, you will click on the link in the next paragraph (The screenshot below shows what you will see after Adobe Connect loads.)  Then you will enter your name and click on 'Enter Room'. No extra password is needed. 

NOTE:  A white box will open regarding audio conference - you can close the box by clicking the dark gray "X" in the upper right of the box.

Are you ready? - Click here to go to the meeting. As an attendee, you will be able to see and hear the presentation, but you will not have an active microphone. During the meeting, you can ask questions using the chat box in the lower right hand side of the screen.

For Android devices, you can get the Adobe Connect Mobile app in the Google Play Store or here.

For Apple iOS devices, you can get the Adobe Connect Mobile app from the iTunes Store or here.

For Microsoft Windows & Apple OS X, please test your computer by going here.This webpage will:

• Test your version of Flash
• Test the connection to Adobe Connect
• Test your internet speed
• Check if you have the Adobe Connect Add-in. If you don't, please install it

For best performance during the conference, we suggests the following:

• Turn off any cloud syncing like Dropbox, SkyDrive or Google Drive
• Turn off any cloud backup like CrashPlan, Carbonite or Mozy
• Disable any other CPU or internet-intensive application

Problems - If when you tested your computer and everything passed, you are ready to attend the meeting. If you have problems getting in, you may have an issue related to Firefox and security extensions / add-ons like "NoScript" and "Intel Identity Protection". This applies to both Windows & OS X. We suggest trying one of the following:

• Use a tablet
• Use a different browser
• Disable the extension during the conference
• Add "adobeconnect.com" to the white list of the extension
• Remove the extension and re-install it after the conference
