  • Cleveland Public Library - Tech Central, 525 Superior Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44114
MakerSpace
The TechCentral MakerSpace is a creative and collaborate design and fabrication space that allows you to turn your ideas into reality. The MakerSpace is available to all Cleveland Public Library and CLEVNET member library card holders. To use the tools & equipment in the TechCentral MakerSpace, you will need a library card in good standing, and a Photo ID.

With the Laser Engraving and Cutting Machine, you can engrave materials up to 24” x 12” in size and cut through select materials up to 1/4” thick using the TechCentral MakerSpace laser engraver. Wood, acrylic, leather, and rubber can all be cut and engraved using the laser unit. Painted or anodized metals, as well as glass, marble, and stone can be engraved as well.

With 3D printing & scanning, there are endless possibilities. Imagine creating physical plastic objects from 3D computer renderings using the TechCentral MakerSpace 3D printer, or turn physical objects into 3D computer renderings using state-of-the-art 3D scanning technology.

Want to create signs? Use the MakerSpace Vinyl Cutting to design and create custom vinyl decals for signage, wall art, and more. Up to 24” wide decals can be printed using their vinyl cutter.

Are you into photography, videography or graphics design? Take studio quality pictures and video using TechCentral's large 9’x10’ white or chroma key green backdrops, or shoot creative stop-motion videos or professional looking product shots with our table-top light box. Professional-level software is available on MakerSpace computers for editing of photo, video, and graphics design projects.

Is music recording / production more your thing? Record guitar, bass, keyboard, or even design your own synthesized tones and beats at the TechCentral MakerSpace. Produce your tracks using professional equipment and software.

The TechCentral MakerSpace has a small number of Windows and Mac computers available for use with MakerSpace projects. Additionally, there is small seating and meeting space, including a SMARTBoard projector, which is available for project design and collaborative meetings.

General use of the space, equipment and software is free of charge with your library card. A variety of materials for the laser engraver, vinyl cutter, and 3D printer are available for purchase at the TechCentral MakerSpace. You are welcome to bring in your own materials for use with the laser engraver and vinyl cutter. MakerSpace staff must approve all user-supplied materials before they are used on MakerSpace equipment, to prevent damage to equipment, or harm to uses within the MakerSpace.

T
his meeting will take place at TechCentral at the downtown library in the lower level of the Louis Stokes Wing at 525 Superior in Cleveland.
