Please join us for the annual GCPCUG picnic. We will have plenty of delicious food and a blazing hot fire at Horseshoe Lake Park in Shaker Heights. This park is one of the nicest local parks in the area. Horseshoe Lake Park is the result of five years of planning and $800,000 in improvements. There are trails, a boardwalk over a wetlands area, pavilions, and a natural play area.
The park is easy to find. See directions & map below .It is between Fairmount Blvd, Shaker Blvd and Lee Road. Parking is available on Park Drive as you enter the park. The picnic area is inside the horseshoe of the lake. There is limited handicapped parking by the picnic area. When you get there look for the large black and white GCPCUG banner.
We will have hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, buns, ketchup, mustard, drinks and eating utensils. Please bring a tasty hot or cold covered dish to share. Snack foods and desserts are also very welcome. Come hungry, come early and have fun. Bring your hiking boots to help walk off lunch. Anyone with yard games is encouraged to bring
them. Raffle Guy, John Kullander, is expected to climb down from the top of the pavilion into a stone fireplace with an assortment of goodies for the young and
nearly young. This is a family oriented no alcohol event. We hope to see you and your family and friends.
We will start setting up at 11 and eating starting around Noon.
The park has public restrooms. For the kids, there is a play area. The park has several walking trails around the lake.
