LinkedIn is the primary social networking tool for career-driven professionals. In today's knowledge economy, it is an essential part of any personal branding strategy. Professionals use LinkedIn to network with each other and with recruiters, to find job openings only available to LinkedIn members, and to share their knowledge with others, enhancing their own reputations.

Our presenter, Michael Mina, a long time group member and special interest group leader, is a Senior Market Analyst at National City Bank and an Instructor at Cleveland State University. Michael has given several presentations on using LinkedIn.

During the meeting, you will learn how to:

  • Create an effective profile
  • Successfully search for and initiate contact with others
  • Build and grow an effective network
  • Find job openings
  • Find and join groups
  • Understand the importance of giving and receiving recommendations
  • Use the Answers feature to learn and to gain recognition
  • Use LinkedIn as part of a comprehensive career-driven social networking strategy
If you do not already have a LinkedIn profile, please go to LinkedIn and create one before the meeting to get a better understanding of LinkedIn.
