General Meeting - Holiday Tech Gadgets V

Here we go again! The holidays are coming & everyone wants a new tech gadget. What cool devices offer a lot of functionality & the most bang for the buck? You can spend time reading reviews & watching video on the web. Decisions, decisions . . .

Wouldn't be great if you could actually see things out of the box & being demonstrated by some of the top techies in Cleveland who really use the products? Well, you can, come on down to Holiday Tech Gadgets V !!!

The Greater Cleveland PC Users Group & the Cleveland Digital Publishing Group join forces at 9:30am Saturday, Dec. 8th in our new location at Cleveland State (Student Center 313 / 315) and will demonstrate a variety of digital cameras, wireless music streaming, Google Nexus tablet, Microsoft tablet, a personal energy generator, remote controls for your audio / video devices and  a tech device to get you in shape physically.

There is going to be a raffle to raise money for the Salvation Army We have a "ton" of prizes (see below). Currently, this is what is planned.

Eric Wethington of Dodd Camera will be back to show the latest & greatest in digital photography. Samsung NX1000, a 20 megapixel camera, Nikon Coolpix S800C with the Android OS and Wi-Fi, Hoodman RAW STEEL memory cards that are very durable and high speed.

Our SmartPhones are always needing power and we are always on the move and never near a power outlet. What if we could transfer our energy to the phone? Well, Aaron LeMieux of Tremont Electric, a Cleveland company will demonstrate the nPower PEG (Personal Energy Generator) that creates power while you walk.

Microsoft has entered the tablet war with it's innovative Surface. Bob Coppedge of Simplex-IT will show off his Microsoft Surface RT running Windows 8 RT.

With all the various audio visual devices we have at home, it can be a real pain to get off the couch and adjust them. Terry Wade from Audiocraft will demo the Crestron Remotes that can make your life easier.

You got your music on your iDevice and play them over it's speakers or ear buds. But what if you want to play them over better speakers? Spike Radway from Team Spike will show his favorite Bluetooth speakers.

Google has also enter the tablet war with their own hardware at a great price and the latest and greatest Android operating system. Stephen Wilson will show off his Google Nexus 7.

Technology shouldn't only be about be more productive. It should also be about getting us healthier. Spike Radway is going to show us the Fitbit System to get us up, moving and healthier!
