General Meeting - Photoshop Elements

  • 11 Apr 2009
  • 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Main Classroom Building Rm 136, East 22nd & Chester Ave., Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio
It's a digital world. Everyone has a digital camera or they are busy scanning old photos to make them digital. Once we have these photos, what do we need to do with them? No matter how careful you are, cropping needs to be done, red eyes removed, exposure corrected and worse yet, someone blinked.

What are your options to edit your photos? At the low end, are some very capable freeware editors. At the high end is Adobe Photoshop CS4, but at a price of $700, it's more than many want to spend.

Is there something in between, with more power and features than the freeware editors, but won't break the bank? What about Adobe Photoshop Elements? It has many of the same features as Photoshop, can be purchased for under $100.

Charles Burkett, leader of GCPCUG Digital Photo Special Interest Group will demonstrate Photoshop Elements for us. He will show us the basics like cropping, red eye and exposure correction. From there, Charles will show us the advanced features like layers and other manipulation tools that you assume that you need Photoshop CS4 for. He will also explain what CS4 can do, but Elements cannot.

Charles is a professional photographer, a member of the Cleveland Photographic Society and has taught several digital photography courses for IdeaStream.
