General Meeting - When Bad Things Happen to Good Computers

  • 12 Feb 2011
  • 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Main Classroom Building Rm 136, East 22nd & Chester Ave., Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio
Suddenly your computer just doesn’t seem to be working like it’s supposed to. What do you do? Or maybe it’s your cousin Joe or your neighbor Sally. Their computer seems flakey. Can you go over and look at it? After all, you’re the computer expert, right? You must know what to do. Well . . . so how do you fix the sick computer? Hammer, rabbit foot, Google?

Stephen Skunta and Lindsey Karoly, techs from Simplex-IT (www.simplex-it.com) have been down this road before, whether it’s a client’s computer or the computer of a family member, they have seen almost everything. What are their favorite tools for diagnosing problems and then fixing them? Once everything is clean, what do they do to prevent from happening again? They even might bring a sick computer and clean it live.

Directions to the meeting are available here.
