An Anatomy of a Web-based Application will be presented by Roger Knapp at our March 19th meeting.  His presentation will show components and examples of a web-based, application software development environment: user interface guidelines (form design), naming conventions for application objects (forms, reports, and database elements (tables, columns, indexes, foreign keys). The importance of establishing such an environment prior to developing software will be stressed.

Other topics will be touched upon including: design philosophy (augmenting the user's ability to accomplish their work), typical application modules, application design and relationship to database design, and interface with other development tools (forms invoking reports).

The presentation of the above will consist mostly of showing examples and demonstration of a software application that supports software developers. Questions and discussion will be encouraged as the meeting progresses.

Roger Knapp's technical background includes designing and developing many software applications and managing development projects and developers. His human resource experience also includes personnel training and development.
