Git is a distributed revision control and source-code management system with an emphasis on speed, data integrity, and support for distributed, non-linear workflows. Every Git working directory is a full-fledged repository with complete history and full version-tracking capabilities, independent of network access or a central server. Git is free software distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License version 2. Learn more at: http://git-scm.com/

Web developer Dennis Jarecke will be presenting a basic "Getting Started with Git" talk. If you have been putting off learning version control, or want to join in the discussion of best practices, please join us to learn more about this important web development skill.
